Dead by Daylight is an asymmetrical multiplayer live-service title, in which four survivors face off against one deadly killer. It’s a love letter to slasher films and features an iconic collection of original and IP killers and survivors.
As a Senior R&D Game Designer, I worked closely with the core Dbd leadership team to pitch, design, prototype, and iterate on new gameplay features. Due to the live service model, there is a need to continuously update and add new content on a monthly basis.
The R&D mandates were all encompassing and touched upon many different elements of the game. We prototyped everything from new gameplay mechanics to full game modes. Here are some of the highlights of R&D projects that were approved for production and shipped in the game:
